Pejačević Castle

Unexpectedly Sumptuous

The count family Pejačević will ‘host’ you in the very heart of Virovitica. Set aside at least three to four hours to research this grand and newly refurbished castle that from the start of the 19^th century proudly poses in the heart of the city. You will be introduced to the secrets of past life in the castle and of its inhabitants – members of the Pejačević family and later those from the family Schaumburg-Lippe, based on the collection of the Virovitica City Museum located in the castle.

Leave some time also to explore the surroundings of the castle, a large park with promenades, just as it suits such an impressive edifice. It is connected with the rest of the city by a series of six theme bridges: Bridge of Love, Bridge of Mirrors, Gymnasium Bridge, Masonry Bridge, Portal Bridge and, particularly attractive, the Music Bridge, playing while you walk on it.
