Apart from excursionists, adventurers, recreationists and tourists, the Virovitica-Podravina area is much liked also by the faithful and pilgrims. Throughout the year, tens of thousands of faithful come to Voćin to visit the Shrine of Our Lady of Voćin – Mother of Refuge. Although it was destroyed in two wars, the church has risen every time carefully nurturing even the smallest details spared from before. Nowadays, within its Gothic appearance, it carries a true treasure – a preserved votive picture of Our Lady from 1770 and a series of extraordinary paintings, stained glasses, mosaics and sculptures with sacral themes its authors being the most eminent contemporary Croatian artists. Its beauty is additionally emphasized by the park surrounding it, with more than three hundred various plant species. Even though there are about ten various pilgrimages taking place there, the biggest one is on the feast of the Nativity of Mary.
